Amen. Book of Common Prayer Page 841	Welcome to North Porch! North Porch is a project of the Episcopal Church Women in the Diocese of Newark, and serves women of all faiths. The North Porch Women and Infants' Centers provide emergency seven-day supplies of formula, baby food, diapers, clothing, bed linens and other supplies for needy mothers and infants in the Newark, Paterson, Dover and Clifton areas of northern New Jersey. The name reflects the custom of the ancient church to regard the "north porch" as a refuge and gathering place for women. We operate centers in Newark, Paterson, Dover and Clifton. North Porch provides assistance only through referrals. These come from a number of social agencies with which North Porch has cooperative agreements and from some area churches. North Porch serves nearly 1,100 mothers and their babies each year through the three centers. ________________________________ What do we provide? Currently the centers provide emergency service, through referral, for women with children between the ages of birth and two years. North Porch dispenses diapers, formula, milk, baby food, toiletries, clothing and bed linens. The centers provide a comfortable place for women seeking assistance to bring their children. Current economic conditions have brought many more indigent mothers to our centers seeking desperately needed baby supplies, and we've seen a considerable slowing down in donations. We need your generous donations NOW of the following: Formula: Similac Advance (blue label), 1-quart liquid or 12-ounce powder, (in date) Baby food, stages 1-3, and cereal (in date) Disposable diapers, especially sizes 3-6 Baby wipes and toiletries Call any of our centers (see Locations and Hours) to arrange for delivery of your donations.
